Working in an interdisciplinary team, you will develop technology concepts through to pre-series-ready designs for power electronic systems in the industrial and mobility sectors. You will take responsibility in several of the following areas:
Development of mechanical designs for power electronic systems, both model- and prototype-based, with a focus on:
Requirements analysis (thermal aspects, production, manufacturing, tolerances, strength, materials)
Design and dimensioning of components according to requirements
Form- and function-oriented design
3D design and simulation
Assembly management and documentation
Close coordination with project stakeholders (hardware design, system design, production, suppliers, customers, project management)
Development of multilayer PCB designs for power electronic systems, with a focus on:
Compliance with quality and production standards
Thermal optimization
EMC-compliant design
Compliance with clearance and creepage distances
Close coordination with project stakeholders (hardware design, system design, mechanical design, production, suppliers, customers)
Additional responsibilities:
Clarification of technical design specifications with suppliers
Research and evaluation of new technologies
Testing, evaluation, and optimization of AI-supported development processes
You have completed a technical apprenticeship (e.g. industrial electronics technician) or hold a degree in mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a comparable field.
You bring professional experience in several of the following areas and are motivated to further develop both personally and professionally:
Experience in the design of mechanical components (metal parts, plastic parts, overmolded parts), from prototype design to series production
Experience in thermal design of air- and water-cooled systems
Experience in PCB design, preferably for power electronic circuits in the range of 100 W to 22 kW
Solid background knowledge in electronics development, preferably in power electronics
Your skills and attributes:
Good written and spoken English skills
German language skills at B2 level or higher are an advantage, along with a willingness to further improve them
Enjoyment of concept development under varying levels of requirement maturity
Flexibility and strong communication skills
Interest in researching and evaluating new technologies
Willingness to travel
High level of personal responsibility as well as a structured and goal-oriented working style
Ability to understand and consider cross-functional design challenges and constraints
Experience with the following development tools is an advantage:
